Sweethearts Part 2
So, Mandy was doing Hannah's hair, and I was getting dressed. And then, I saw it hanging on the back of of our bedroom door.
"What is Audrey's dress doing here?" I asked.
"Hannah is wearing it." Mandy responded.
I took one more look at it and shed a tear.
I was running some errands, getting hair ties, and other items for Hannah and came back and Mandy asked: "Is it okay?"
I answered back that it was. I really wasn't sure. But it really was.
I'm not going to lie, it was pretty emotional.
I later told Mandy that I can't believe the fact that I didn't figure out Hannah and Mandy's plan. They were planning this for about a month. I should have known since they didn't go dress shopping. Also, Mandy asked if I was getting a corsage for Hannah. At first, I said no, because I had gotten one for Audrey, and I figured Hannah's dress wasn't going to be a princess dress like her sister's. I thought she would wear a sportier dress and run around at the dance (she did do a lot of running). But 3 days before the dance, I changed my mind, and decided to get Hannah a corsage. It just felt right.
"What colors should I get?" I asked.
"Turquoise and white." Mandy responded.
I didn't think about the fact that Hannah didn't have a teal dress. It just felt right.
But it felt like Audrey was there. This past week has been one of the toughest. Yesterday was six months. But it felt like she was there. And her presence was. I took this candid photo of Hannah at the dance, and she has twirling like her sister. When I asked her why she said "It felt right."
When we were gone, Mandy baked cookies for the Superhero Center Valentine's Dance. The next morning, she took 80 cookies and roses to the Superhero Dance. They had already included Audrey. They decorated the memorial of Audrey (as they have at special events and birthday parties). We are so appreciative of that. That too, just felt right.

The six months, a lot of things haven't felt right, so it is an especially beautiful moment when things do feel right.
